Isn’t it interesting that this list is entirely made up of republicans.
I thought they were supposed to be conservative. They don’t even understand what that word actually means.
Regrettably and unfortunately we have something similar happening here in New Zealand, with our current government (also “conservative”) passing legislation in the dead of night to allow companies building roads and digging holes and extracting resources to get away with “the accidental killing of protected species” without penalty. This includes our national bird, and symbol all around the world of New Zealand, the delicate and endangered kiwi. So another restraint on exploitation of the land is removed, without any consultation and in order to favour economic expansion. Habitat destruction is just fine if you have money to make.
Thank you for sharing, Sally. It's brutally ironic. There seems to be a certain craven depravity that's sweeping the globe. We must fight back aggressively against these efforts.
I do. Maybe I could phrase it better as “I just don’t get this world” - because I can’t empathise with the mindset of people who want selfishly to destroy it for their own monetary gain.
It’s a travesty that 3 of the most anti Public Land’s Republicans live in Utah State. This is one of the most visited and loved areas of the US for National Parks, Monuments and outdoor enthusiasts!
It is beyond my comprehension that they are State politicians, who were elected and paid to represent Utah citizens and yet are promoting the selling of our sacred public lands.
Call/Write them, speak their names and do not forget what they want to do with the “ people’s lands”
Thank you for fighting the good fight on behalf of all of us. These politicians who would replace public service with private gain are beneath contempt. If we don’t raise our voices in protest and turn up the heat on this collection of pusillanimous villains then they will continue to rob us until we have nothing left. It’s time to remind them that they work for us and not the other way around. It’s time to text, email, call, write and do everything within our power to let them know that the same people who put them in office can remove them in the next election. Most importantly, we need to remember the words of Martin Luther King jr., who once said, “The opposite of good is not evil - it’s indifference.” We need to care enough about this country to get involved because if we’re not angry then we’re simply not paying attention.
Great call John. Ultimately we can work this into our own report card for folks to track. As a two person operation you can imagine how long it takes to call and get a hold of everyone but we will get'r done. Thanks for the suggestion and your time, as always!
Thanks so much William. Every bit counts. This community has made tens of thousands of calls and sent a similar amount of emails since we started ratcheting up the pressure. It's on all of us to do what you just did. Takes a few minutes out of the day but collectively adds up.
I’m calling Cliff Bentz he is in OR. We need to protect all public lands and parks, last night Mapleton was evacuated a fire was started by a welder working on a railroad car…..
My pleasure Will, I was born and raised in California both states are under attack by Trump Regime! I will not stop fighting to protect our democracy, rights but especially our environment
The Republican Party has introduced a bill that would auction off more than 3 million acres of public land across 11 Western states. These aren’t just parcels of dirt—they are the living, breathing landscapes that define the American spirit.
We’re talking about the sapphire waters of Lake Tahoe, the alpine majesty of Mammoth Lakes, the red rock canyons of Utah, the whispering forests near Grand Teton, and the wildflower meadows of Montana. These are not just places on a map. They are sacred ground. They are memory, identity, and legacy.
To sell them off is not governance—it is surrender. It is the commodification of our collective soul for short-term convenience and corporate gain. It is a betrayal of every American who ever stood in awe of a mountain sunrise in the Rockies, who ever found peace in the hush of a Pacific Northwest forest, who ever felt small beneath the stars in the Mojave Desert.
This bill is not just bad policy. It is an abomination. It is the auctioning of our birthright to the highest bidder. It is the erasure of the very landscapes that shaped our history and should shape our future.
From the granite cliffs of Yosemite to the sandstone arches of Utah, from the pine-covered slopes of the Sierra Nevada to the high plains of Wyoming—these lands are not political pawns. They are promises. Promises made to future generations that they too will know the freedom of open space, the silence of wilderness, the dignity of land that belongs to the people, not to profit.
We don’t inherit the land from our ancestors. We borrow it from our children. And the Republican Party is selling their future for campaign cash and convenience.
This is not just a fight for land. It is a fight for who we are.

Will, check this out - filmed in a garden not long ago. Our national bird in its glory. And fighting fit 😊
I have watched this over and over because it’s just so wonderful. No kiwi were harmed either! 😊

Actually, you DO understand. All too well.
I do. Maybe I could phrase it better as “I just don’t get this world” - because I can’t empathise with the mindset of people who want selfishly to destroy it for their own monetary gain.
It would be great to have a shareable graphic (or two) with the names of the reps and senators and the reasons.
Yes! Great idea. I will include one in my follow up post that will serve as a living list of the baddies. Thank you so much Eileen.
I just created one for the senators - what do you think of this? https://www.canva.com/design/DAGq645LEYI/tcL1MGR1FenN9830Pwjvcg/edit?utm_content=DAGq645LEYI&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton
Colors aren't the greatest, but it was a pain to try to change them.
That is great! Thank you so much, Eileen!! Are you able to post that here in the comments?
Just changed the color scheme to a red and added it to the bottom of the post! Thanks again, Eileen!

Senator Mike Lee (202) 224-5444
Representative Blake Moore

Rep. Celeste Malloy 202-225-9730
Absolutely! It is truly unconscionable the acts of these traitors to our lands. Thank you so much Monet!!

Amen, Anthony! Thank you! Villains is right. Robbing us of our most sacred natural heritage. Indifference is the enemy no doubt.
They may backtrack, but I am more than welcoming these other opinions!

Thanks for sharing, Joe. Always nice to see a bit of good news wherever it hides.
What about the members of Congress who are too cowardly to speak up one way or the other?
My congressman, Tom Kean Jr (NJ-07), is one of those. I’m going to call him.
But I think every member should go on the record, and not try to hide in silence. Please list them all!
Great call John. Ultimately we can work this into our own report card for folks to track. As a two person operation you can imagine how long it takes to call and get a hold of everyone but we will get'r done. Thanks for the suggestion and your time, as always!
Cliff Bentz is not my congressman so he'll likely ignore me, but like me he's in Oregon so I contacted him.

Hell yeah. Thank you Stacey! I lived in Oregon for 5 years - one of the most beautiful states in the country. So much to protect.
My pleasure Will, I was born and raised in California both states are under attack by Trump Regime! I will not stop fighting to protect our democracy, rights but especially our environment

Eileen Bernadette your graphic is great!
I agree Patsy! This community is wonderful.
In addition to being R, most are from western states where much of the land in question is located.
Yep - selling their own lands, our lands!
Great read. Thank you!!
Thanks Luke!
Thank you, Will! Your commitment is inspiring! I’m forwarding your message to many friends and will make calls asap.
Thank YOU Julianne! Every bit counts!
I've emailed NC senators Tillis & Budd as well as NC Rep.
Hell yeah! Thank you!
This were my Budd/Tillis calls today.
Hell yeah, Joe!! Thank you!

These lands are gifts from God to us. They belong to all of us. They are meant to last forever. God is watching what we do with them.
