Please stop what you are doing. Our public lands make LIFE WORTH LIVING. So many Americans LOVE the great outdoors. We need to be able to wander and enjoy fresh air and wide open spaces. I live for being able to get out there and enjoy the beauty of nature. “ These lands are my lands, these lands are your lands.” Remember those words in that song? It’s meaningful. Please have grace.
Any idea how to email these congressmen? The two in Montana only let you contact them via their website if your address is in Montana. They don't offer up an email address to contact them if you are not in their state.
Thanks for flagging this John. I hadn't realized the Montana guys force you to verify your state residency, which is absurd. Nevertheless, I've got you covered:
I discovered a zip code is required to verify residency with Rep. Simpson, Idaho, as well. So, thank you for providing the Chief of Staff addresses for these Representatives.
The federal government owns far less land in the Eastern U.S. by virtue of those states being much older and having a very different history of federal land ownership.
The 13 colonies got their land from the British Crown. The rest of the eastern states were formed from federal land after it was sold or granted away, mostly to railroads, tycoons, and political allies. That land didn’t go to the states. It went private. Out West, the federal government kept the land public to avoid repeating that mistake. It was never the states to begin with.
What about mentioning WATER? If public lands are sold to developers they will need/use lots of water and the West is in a long term drought despite the occasional wet winter. If you drain the aquifers no one will be able to thrive. Isn’t it a question of counting. Call their office and say please don’t sell public lands please vote NO on this provision as you’ve done in the past. Be respectful- no swearing.
Representative Joe Neguse (CO) had a hand in getting this removed from the house version of the bill - and Zinke from my understanding - they need to be notified/involved in discussion with senators not to get it added back in!
Joe Neguse is a terrific Congressman. I'm also grateful to Zinke for championing this cause. Obviously he has a history, but I sure am glad he's fighting for this.
This is a fantastic question. And you’re right. Which is why I advocate not giving out your location if at all possible if you’re not in their district. It could very well send you into the trash bin. If you can, just leave out your location and describe yourself as a concerned citizen.

Called already. Writing now
Thank you Marianne!
Sent out to Utah friends and writing now.
We cannot allow this. We just cannot.
I’m in Idaho. I will write and call Crapo and Reisch (again)…
Thank you! And please contact Mike Simpson. He is very sympathetic to this cause.
When are Utah voters going to vote this traitor to our western way of life out of office?
Ya it's hard to understand.

Downing's Chief of Staff: robert.mcintosh@mail.house.gov
Simpson's Chief of Staff: nikki.wallace@mail.house.gov

I always just lie and put in a required zip. The are US senators, not state senators and make decisions that affect me wherever I live.
Yep, just Google the district and pick a city and pick an address or zip code.
There’s so much in this BBBill that will hurt Americans. We need to gather together so we can each focus on each individual atrocity.
Let’s work together to stop the provisions that the Republican Party are hiding in this bill.
Why should the Federal government own 25% of the West?
The land was never the western states to begin with. They want what isn't theirs and never has been. It belongs to the American people.
Whereas that is not true in the East where the federal government doesn’t own land?
The federal government owns far less land in the Eastern U.S. by virtue of those states being much older and having a very different history of federal land ownership.
No, because it sold it all off via Federal Land Offices.
The 13 colonies got their land from the British Crown. The reps in NV and UT were involved in the removal from the house bill as well per the conversation during mark up/amendments for the house bill
Is there much point in non-constituents contacting these people? I worry that as a woke libtard from Commie California I might do more harm than good.
