For Earth Day this year we’re launching a tool that has never existed for America’s public lands.
The Congressional Public Lands Score tracks how every member of Congress votes on your national parks, national forests, national monuments, wilderness areas, and BLM land. All 535 members. Every vote graded, sourced, and linked to the official roll call. An interactive map of the entire country colored by delegation scores, with an additional layer highlighting every state where a senator faces voters in 2026.
Organizations like the League of Conservation Voters have done essential work tracking environmental votes for decades, but the LCV scorecard and others like it bundle public lands with dozens of other environmental issues. A senator can score well on those scorecards while voting to open the Arctic Refuge to oil drilling, because their clean air and clean water votes cancel out their anti-lands votes.
