Happy holidays! This winter finds me in Oregon, and what more iconic spot is there to enjoy the season than Timberline Lodge?
A Little Timberline Background
Completed in 1937, Timberline Lodge stands as one of the most remarkable achievements of the Works Progress Administration (WPA), a New Deal initiative designed to create jobs during the Great Depression. Situated at the timber line on Oregon’s Mt. Hood and commissioned by the federal government, the project provided employment to hundreds of artisans, craftsmen, and laborers who transformed local timber and stone into a masterpiece of rustic design.
