You are to be commended for your outstanding series of articles documenting this administration’s complete and total contempt as well as its utter disregard, not only for the concept of public lands, but for the rule of law itself. What we are witnessing, as you astutely point out, is the looting of our nation’s public resources on an unprecedented scale. The concept of public service has been replaced by that of private gain. And, the government of the United States has been replaced by a criminal enterprise which seeks to rob the American people of what ought to belong to everyone irrespective of their socioeconomic status.

Thanks Anthony. They don't hide their contempt for the idea of public ownership at all. It's quite a departure from the 1st Trump administration. This one seemingly has no regard for the public whatsoever, only coldly and callously enacting its agenda.

That would be the heartless Heritage Foundation with its henchman and chief Project 2025 architect Russell Vought driving the destruction from his perch as the head of OMB. He is a fanatic without empathy, worse than Steven Miller because he is the quiet but deadly type who stays out of the public eye.

No end to it. Well you know WHAT?? WE aren’t going away

What can I say except that whenever something that is sacred is touched, there is always another something. Sure the Smithsonian has now re-established the Trump was impeached twice. But they have been infiltrated. The canceling by Amy Gerald of having her exhibit American Sublime showed at The National Gallery is one. Another is the removal/return jof items on long term loan display at the NNAAHC.

But I do fully understand this story. Maybe I wouldn't be as eloquent in writing it, although the narrative is one I could share.

So I pontificate in response. Because right now affirming the truth is something I can do.

There is not a single action or policy this horrid regime inflicts that is good, just, reasonable, or necessary. The felonpotus is abolishing every possible good a government can do for its people. This regime is intent on destroying everything precious to us - our freedoms, our history, and even our national parks, recreation areas, forests, monuments, and historical places. This is a blight that will stain us for years. It is beyond sad and horrifying.

Thank You for a good comment, that is so eloquent and true

Are they targeting UNESCO lands and Eocshperes?

Jim Pattiz's avatar

They’ve pulled the U.S. out of UNESCO

Very informative. Any thoughts on how to combat this disregard for conservation?

They don't miss any chance to attack the commons. But is a conundrum-since they are control freaks and profiteers you would think they would want to acquire new lands from private hands. Then they could control it and profit by reselling for more than they paid.

It's all about looting the government and exerting control over anyone and anything that resists their warped worldview.

Jim, all that read your stories, I must share Elle Cordova. Her videos are commonly about language, but many times deliciously humourous and deft in their satire. I am guessing I have to thank Jay Kuo for his Saturday For Sheets and Giggles humor emails for the intro to her.

Have not seen the USGS make any cameos recently, but they are given a shout-out here:
