BREAKING: Federal Judge Orders Trump-Altered National Park Sites Restored

A federal judge just called it what it is. Censorship.

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Angel Kelley ordered the Trump administration to restore the history it pulled out of our national parks over the past year, halt any further removals, and report to her court every week until the exhibits are back on the walls. She wrote that the administration was trying “to rewrite the Nation’s history with a white-out pen,” and that Interior’s conduct set “a dangerous precedent of censorship and sanitization.”

That’s the whole story. They reached for the white-out. A federal judge slapped it out of their hand.

We watched this start in January, when Park Service crews arrived at Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia and dismantled the exhibit on slavery. We reported it the week it happened. Friday’s order is the courts catching up to what’s been happening at parks across the country ever since.
